Dyeing (Dyeing the Hair and Beard)

Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq: Dyeing (the hair and beard) in a dream is interpreted in four ways:

1—A futile and ugly deed

2—Adorning oneself with the adornments of this world

3—Desiring rank and position

4—Gaining renown through worldly wealth.

Daniel (peace be upon him): To see oneself dyeing one’s beard in a dream signifies concealed matters. To see that you have dyed your hair and beard but that the dye has not taken indicates that you will show yourself to people as you truly are; and to see that you have dyed your hair and beard and that the dye has taken indicates that your condition will improve and that your affairs will remain concealed.

The Author: To dye anything red in a dream signifies goodness and joy for women, and evil for men.

Ibn Sirin: To see that you are dyeing certain things in a dream indicates that you will do certain things which appear impossible, but that people will deny you. To see the dye taking beautifully is interpreted as your condition remaining as it is.

To dye clothing in a dream signifies evil.

Kirmani: To see that you have dyed your palm indicates that you will fall into financial hardship; and to see your dyed hands sticking to one another indicates that a respected person will die.

To see your hands and feet dyed violet in a dream indicates that you will practise deceit concerning your earnings.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.

In the interpretation, the themes of success and reputation, work and responsibility, health and body, spiritual signs, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
