Fragrant Herbs

To see or smell fragrant herbs in a dream signifies deliverance from sorrow, grief, and violence, the performance of righteous deeds, and speaking the truth.

If a dead person gives something fragrant to a living person in a dream, or if a person sees fragrant things beside the dead, it signifies that the deceased is in Paradise. For a single person, a fragrant thing signifies a spouse; and for a married person, it signifies a child, or knowledge by which he shall become renowned, or being praised for goodness. At times, the drawing near of fragrant herbs to a person in a dream signifies sorrow and violence, and at times illness.

The presence of water together with greenery in a dream signifies the removal of sorrow and grief. To see fragrant herbs in the place where they have grown, and in the state in which they have grown, signifies being praised in a good manner and words that shall gladden a person. Fragrant herbs signify a male child. To see all the fragrant herbs cut from their places signifies sorrow and grief. To see them in their proper place and station signifies comfort, a husband, or a child.

To see a fragrant herb rising from the earth toward heaven in a dream signifies the death of the scholar of the people of that place. Fragrant scents signify a child only when they are in a garden. Fragrant herbs gathered and made into bundles or sheaves signify a wife; those that have been cut and cast elsewhere, and whose scent has disappeared, signify a calamity.

If fragrant herbs are spread in a person’s house in a dream, it signifies praise for that person. If a person is given an herb whose scent is pleasant though it has no fragrance, it signifies a calamity. If a person throws something fragrant at someone in a dream, and another man takes that thing, sadness shall befall the man who takes it on account of them. If he sees that he is sitting in a mosque with fragrant herbs around him, it signifies backbiting that person and that those around him shall disparage him with things that are not found in him.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.
