Seyyid Süleyman: Whoever sees a hill in a level place will befriend a majestic man and, through him, attain goodness. If the dreamer climbs this hill or sits upon it, the interpretation is stronger. Whoever sees such a hill belonging to himself will acquire property, or will take property from a great man by force.

According to Ja‘far al-Sadiq, this dream is interpreted as signifying the following: a great rank and worth, abundant wealth, strength, and treachery.

Kirmani says: Whoever climbs a hill will attain position and esteem. His word will carry weight. Whoever is unable to descend from the hill he has climbed will die.

According to some interpreters, climbing a hill in a dream signifies marrying an honourable woman or attaining one’s desire.

To climb a hill in a dream while riding a horse, and to stand there as a horseman, is exceedingly auspicious for everyone. It signifies victory, sovereignty, and wealth.

‘Abdulgani al-Nabulsi has said: A hill is interpreted as a respected and illustrious man, while the well-tended lands around it are interpreted as that man’s family.

Seeing a hill in a level neighbourhood in a dream indicates a wealthy person.

A hill covered all around with greenery denotes that person’s piety and good conduct.

Whoever sees in his dream that he is standing upon a hill will place his trust in a person of this quality; his affairs will be set right and his worth will increase.

Whoever sees himself walking upon a number of hills in a dream will attain safety. Whoever climbs to the top of a hill will become superior to a pious person. Just as climbing a high hill is good, descending from it is equally bad. It signifies abasement (humiliation, disgrace) and sorrow. A hill of earth signifies property and sovereignty; a hill of stone and sand signifies a fine reputation.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.
