Seeing the Kaaba in a dream signifies guarding oneself from evils, righteous deeds, marriage, safety and security, going on pilgrimage, the Qur’an and the Sunnah; a righteous parent whose example is followed and through whom guidance is found, a true scholar, saint, or spiritual guide, or Paradise.
Praying in the Kaaba in a dream signifies receiving goodness from the authorities and being safe from the evil of enemies; looking at the Kaaba signifies well-being and tranquillity; seeing one of its walls collapse signifies the death of a religious leader; seeing oneself circumambulate the Kaaba in accordance with its proper etiquette signifies fulfilling the obligatory acts of worship properly and carrying out what one has pledged to do.
Seeing oneself perform an erroneous and improper act in the Kaaba in a dream signifies acting contrary to the Sunnahs; seeing the Kaaba come to one’s own house or to another place signifies continual esteem, honour, and prosperity for that house or place; seeing it ruined signifies abandoning prayer or praying without observing the proper composure and order of its pillars.
Seeing oneself turn toward the Kaaba in a dream signifies attaining goodness and well-being by reforming one’s religion and worldly affairs; the Kaaba sometimes signifies the seasons, the broad streets and avenues of a city, and communities whose associations are founded upon goodness. The person will be delivered from all his troubles. A tranquil, new period will begin for him. It is a very good dream.
For the Golden Gutter of the Kaaba
Seeing the Kaaba in a dream is interpreted as the head of state, dignitaries of the state, a judge, marriage, or visiting the Kaaba. Whoever sees himself praying inside the Kaaba will become close to one of the dignitaries of the state. He will be delivered from his enemy.
Seeing oneself enter the Kaaba in a dream is interpreted as entering the office of a state dignitary. Seeing oneself receive news from the Kaaba signifies that he will receive news from the government concerning his affairs; seeing one of the walls of the Kaaba fallen signifies the death of one of the state dignitaries.
Seeing oneself steal something from the Kaaba in a dream signifies committing an unlawful deed; walking toward the Kaaba signifies the strength of one’s religion; seeing oneself pray upon the Kaaba signifies having turned away from Islam; seeing oneself trample the Kaaba signifies opposing the Prophetic Sunnah; seeing angels descend from heaven and carry the Kaaba to another place signifies that public order is sound in that region; seeing the Kaaba filthy signifies that one has abandoned the obligatory duties.
According to Abdulgani al-Nabulsi: Touching the Black Stone in a dream, that is, stroking it with one’s hand, signifies following and adhering to a person from the people of the Hijaz or a person connected with our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
According to another narration: Seeing the Kaaba in a dream signifies the caliph, a minister, a leader, or marriage. At times, seeing the Kaaba in a dream signifies that the dreamer will enter the House of Allah.
Whoever sees the Kaaba in a dream is given glad tidings of a righteous deed he will perform. Or he will refrain from an evil deed he desires to commit. If a person sees himself praying in the Kaaba, he will receive strength from a leader or an imam. He will be safe from the evil of his enemy and attain goodness.
Whoever enters the Kaaba in a dream will appear before the caliph; whoever sees himself take something from there will receive something from the caliph. If he sees one of the walls of the Kaaba collapse, it signifies the death of the ruler.
If a person sees in a dream that he reaches the Kaaba and performs there something connected with the pilgrimage, it signifies that he will strive to fulfil what Allah Most High has commanded among the obligatory duties, or to discharge the expiation of his oath.
Looking at the Kaaba in a dream signifies being safe from that which one fears. If a person is appointed to a duty in Mecca in a dream, he will be entrusted with a duty concerning the affairs of the ruler. Whoever sees himself steal a pomegranate from the Kaaba in a dream will reform his religion. Whoever sees himself among the dead in Mecca and sees them ask him questions will die as a martyr.
If a person sees himself relieving himself in the Kaaba in a dream, it signifies a calamity that will befall the caliph. Whoever sees the Kaaba in his own house in a dream will always attain sovereignty, prosperity, and fame among the people. However, if he sees an evil condition in the form or appearance of the Kaaba, there is no good in the dream for the owner of the house. If he sees his own house as the Kaaba, the Kaaba is the leader of the Muslims, and that person is among those under his authority.
If a person sees himself praying upon the Kaaba, he will apostatise. Whoever enters the noble completion of the Qur’an and prays upon the Kaaba will attain gifts, beneficence, and rank. He will engage in tax collection while acting in a manner deemed evil by his school of law and contrary to the Sunnah. Whoever sees himself commit an error in the Kaaba will act contrary to the Noble Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and enter the path of those who follow their lower selves.
If a person sees angels descend from heaven, lift the Kaaba from its foundations, and place it in a city, it signifies that a sedition will arise in that place and that the leader of the Muslims will be present in that city. If a person sees the Kaaba ruined, he will abandon prayer.
If a person sees himself circumambulate the Kaaba or perform a duty connected with the pilgrimage, it signifies the soundness of that person’s religion in proportion to the duty he performs.
If a person sees in a dream that he has turned toward the Kaaba, it signifies that he will turn toward something that will reform his religion and worldly affairs, or that he is about to turn toward the side where the sultan is, in order to become involved in certain affairs. If a person sees himself omit some of the rites of pilgrimage in opposition to the Noble Sunnah, it signifies that he will change his religion just as he changes the direction of the qiblah in his prayer. The Kaaba also signifies prayer, because the Kaaba is the qiblah of those who pray. The Kaaba also signifies a mosque and a place of worship, because the Kaaba is the House of Allah. The Kaaba signifies Islam, the Qur’an, the Sunnah, the Noble Mushaf, a learned father, a sayyid, a husband, and a mother—those persons whom, by following them, one reaches guidance.
At times, the Kaaba signifies Paradise, because the Kaaba is the House of Allah, and Paradise is also the House of Allah. Attaining Paradise, however, is possible only by turning toward the Kaaba. At times, it also signifies the season, the congregation, streets, and broad places. If a person sees in a dream that the Kaaba itself is his house, it signifies that, on account of the state in which he is, the knowledge he possesses, or a deed he has performed, people will hasten to him and visit him, and that his door will be crowded.
Ibn Sirin: Seeing the Kaaba in a dream signifies the foundation of religion, the imam, the caliph, or Paradise, since it is the centre of Islam and the qiblah of the Muslims. Seeing oneself pray in the Kaaba signifies the strengthening of religion and safety. Seeing oneself enter the Kaaba is interpreted as meeting the caliph or head of state, or entering upon a righteous undertaking. Seeing oneself take a stone from the Kaaba signifies benefiting from the caliph; seeing its wall collapse signifies the death of the caliph. Seeing the Kaaba in one’s own house signifies esteem and honour and that the people will come to him. Turning toward the Kaaba signifies the right path, while turning one’s back to it signifies apostasy from religion. Seeing oneself perform something contrary to proper etiquette in the Kaaba is interpreted as opposing the Sunnah.
