Abraham (A.S.)
Seeing the Prophet Abraham (A.S.) in a dream signifies goodness, blessing, worship, perfection, sustenance, generosity, care for buildings, a righteous progeny, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, knowledge, emigration from one’s family and relatives for the sake of obedience to Allah. Seeing the Prophet Abraham (A.S.) points to a compassionate father. At times, seeing him signifies falling into hardship and severity and being delivered from it, reconciling people, or undergoing hardship for a matter from which one hopes for good.
At times, seeing the Prophet Abraham (A.S.) in a dream signifies that the dreamer’s affairs conform to Islamic law, that he preserves his life, and that he separates from an evil companion. It may also signify love and affection for the sake of Allah.
If one sees the Prophet Abraham (A.S.) holding one of the dreamer’s limbs, and if that limb is diseased or afflicted, Allah grants him well-being and removes his complaint. Seeing Abraham signifies going on pilgrimage. If the one who sees him in a dream is a woman, her husband does her wrong because of her child. Or severity is inflicted upon one of the woman’s children, and he delivers that child from it. At times, if the dreamer has several children, one of them divorces his wife because of the dreamer.
Whoever sees in a dream that he himself is Abraham (A.S.), or that he is his companion, is afflicted by a calamity at the hands of his enemies, but is delivered from it. Whoever sees Abraham (A.S.) gains victory over his enemy and marries a believing woman. Whoever sees that the Prophet Abraham (A.S.) calls him and that he goes toward him shall attain a high rank. But whoever sees that he does not respond to him and go to him, or that he threatens and frightens him, or sees him in a displeased state, does not go on pilgrimage despite having the ability to do so, or abandons prayer, or becomes a hypocritical person. If the one who sees the Prophet Abraham is disobedient, he becomes repentant. If he is one who has abandoned his prayer, he begins praying again.
Whoever sees in a dream that he has taken on the form of the Prophet Abraham (A.S.) or that he is wearing his garments, afflictions befall that person. Most often, seeing him signifies the removal of sorrow and grief, the arrival of goodness, living in worldly abundance, and guidance. Some interpreters have said that seeing the Prophet Abraham (A.S.) signifies disobedience to one’s father.
Ibn Sirin: Seeing the Prophet Abraham (A.S.) in a dream signifies wealth, blessing, glad tidings, worship, long life, diligence, the sick person’s recovery, noble aims, righteous children, enjoining good and restraining from evil, abandoning an evil circle of companions, conforming to the divine decree, knowledge, guidance, and success after failure. It also denotes separating from one’s family and relatives in pursuit of Allah’s pleasure. In a dream, Abraham represents compassion toward one’s children and family; at times, he also expresses hardships and, ultimately, attaining safety.
