David (Peace be upon him)

Seeing David (Peace be upon him) in a dream signifies art and skill, eating from the labor of one’s own hands, a just judge or a person, the implements and equipment of warfare, and becoming among the righteous by performing righteous deeds.

Whoever sees David (Peace be upon him) in a dream shall acquire strength and authority, and, having committed an erroneous deed and subsequently repented of it, shall choose piety.

They said that if a person sees David (Peace be upon him) in a dream, that person shall become a just statesman in the city, a virtuous leader, or an equitable judge. If the leader of that city is tyrannical, Allah (the Exalted) shall transform him into a leader. If it has a tyrannical judge, He shall bring a just one in his place.

At times, seeing David (Peace be upon him) in a dream signifies being tested through women and violence arising on account of women. At times, seeing David (Peace be upon him) signifies reciting the Qur’an, making tasbih, being cleansed of sins and evils, and repenting to Allah Almighty (the Exalted), with his repentance being accepted.

The meaning of seeing David (Peace be upon him) in a dream points to weapons and implements made of iron. If the dreamer is among those who make weapons and iron implements, he shall derive great benefit from the things he makes and gain advantage from them. At times, this dream also signifies a good outcome and dying a good death.

If one sees that he has taken on the form of David (Peace be upon him), or that he has put on one of his garments, and is worthy of officialdom, then it signifies officialdom for him. If he is not worthy of it, his livelihood and profession shall be concerned with iron; or, if it is made of iron, he shall gain wealth and benefit. If his livelihood and profession have nothing to do with these, and he himself is a righteous person, then it signifies being given glad tidings of an increase in good, much weeping, humility, and sorrow. Whoever sees David (Peace be upon him) making him sorrowful or frightening him should fear Allah (the Exalted) and strive to amend his condition.

Ibn Sirin: Seeing the Prophet David (peace be upon him) in a dream signifies power and sovereignty, prevailing over the enemy, worship, and a beautiful voice. Seeing him sorrowful signifies a calamity, while seeing him joyful signifies relief.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.
