To see oneself protected by someone after falling into helplessness in a dream signifies toil and hardship, and falling ill; being protected is a sign of deliverance for one who is suffering toil and distress. Whether protecting or being protected, it denotes honor and dignity, and being safe from fear.

To see oneself protected in a dream is interpreted as a heavy burden. To see someone circling around oneself and watching over one in order to protect one signifies that one has fallen under the accusation of a person from whom one has received kindness. To see oneself protecting another in a dream is a sign that one will be safe from one’s enemies.

According to Ja‘far al-Sadiq, protecting is interpreted in three ways: strength, power, and hardship.

According to another narration: If one sees that someone is protecting him and walking around him, it signifies that his affairs will grow stronger, that he will undergo hardship, and that he will suffer a severe illness. This dream signifies deliverance for one who is in violence and hardship.

To be protected or to protect in a dream is honor. For the protected person, it is also being secure from fear. Whoever sees that another is protecting him will fall into toil and distress. Some have also said that jihad and ghaza will be granted to one who protects and guards another.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
