Seeing rain in a dream signifies the fulfillment of something promised to a person, goodness and sustenance, abundance and blessing, and the passing away of things that cause people harm and that they dislike.

Rain that harms people and cultivated land in a dream signifies sorrow and grief. Seeing rain falling everywhere signifies the realization of something of which one had despaired; rain signifies beautiful and abundant sustenance, and deliverance from sorrow, grief, and debt. (Seeing rain form floods and uproot trees signifies tribulation and oppression that will come to that region from the authorities; seeing rain fall only upon one’s own house signifies the good that will reach the people of that household; and if it falls upon the entire city, it signifies favorable developments that will gladden all the people of that city. (Becoming wet beneath the rain in a dream signifies mercy; becoming wet because there is no roof or other shelter under which to take refuge signifies sorrow and grief. Rain also signifies the acceptance of prayers.

Seeing rain in a dream signifies the fulfillment of a promised matter, and that one will grieve because of losing a beloved and precious possession; seeing stones raining down from the sky signifies sin and rebellion. Rain may also at times indicate natural disasters.

Rain is always interpreted as something good. Walking in the rain means escaping from one’s troubles and illness. If the person who sees this dream is unemployed, it is interpreted that he will find a very good job. If he is troubled by money, it means that he will not suffer financial hardship in the future; and if he is in love, it means that he will be reunited with his beloved.

Taking a walk in rainy weather in a dream means that many pleasant events will take place in your life. Rain is a sign of wealth, abundance, and a healthy life.

Rain falling in a dream is interpreted as goodness and as the mercy that Allah (Exalted is He) has bestowed upon His servants. Seeing rain fall at the time desired by everyone signifies grace, blessing, and mercy; rain falling out of season signifies harm, loss, and calamity.

Seeing heavy rain fall upon a neighborhood or house in a dream signifies illness and affliction there; if the rain is falling gently, it signifies goodness and benefit. Seeing rain fall at the beginning of the year or at the beginning of a month is evidence that there will be blessing and abundance in that year or month.

Seeing torrential rain in the form of a deluge in a dream signifies that great grief and distress will befall the people of that place. If a sick person sees gentle rain falling in his dream, he will recover. If the rain he sees is violent and turbid, his illness will worsen or he will die.

According to Ibn Sirin, whoever sees himself washing with rainwater will be delivered from fear. Whoever sees the sound of the raindrops cease—that is, sees the rain falling silently—will attain a great rank and become a renowned person.

Seeing violent rain falling in a dream, with floods flowing from every direction, while one oneself suffers no harm from it, signifies that illness will break out in that place, though it will not harm the dreamer. (According to another report: If no harm results from the rain seen in a dream, it signifies goodness and sustenance. At times, rain signifies the existence of something feared, whether from people or from the earth itself. At times, rain signifies the fulfillment of something promised to a person. If the rain is confined to a particular place, it signifies the sorrow of the people of that place, or that the dreamer will grieve and suffer on account of losing something he loves. At times, seeing rain signifies that a traveler will be prevented from returning from his journey. At times, rain that harms a particular place signifies deficiency in weights and measures. (Seeing heavy rain in a dream signifies making peace with an enemy. Rain also signifies the plea for help of a sorrowful and oppressed person. If one sees rain falling from every side of the sky and clouds, it signifies expansion, joy, and the overflowing of waters springing forth from their sources, reaching the people. (If a person sees in a dream that rain is falling everywhere, it signifies that something from which he had despaired will be revived, and that he will attain goodness, blessing, and bounty; if he is sorrowful and indebted, it signifies his deliverance from his sorrow and debt.

Whoever sees in a dream that rain quickly reaches him will attain beautiful and abundant sustenance without hardship. Rain signifies deliverance from sorrow and receiving assistance during that year. Whoever sees rain falling only upon his own house will attain benefit, goodness, and well-being.

If one sees rain flowing as a flood from every direction, uprooting and felling trees, this dream signifies tribulation and destruction that will occur in that place. At times, seeing rain fall particularly upon a certain house signifies illness, pain, suffering, affliction, and such things as smallpox that will occur in that house. If one sees blood and stones raining down from the sky in a dream, it signifies punishment.

For farmers, seeing rain in a dream signifies glad tidings and the cheapness and abundance they will enjoy. Some interpreters have said: If the rain that falls is earth, it signifies cheapness. If the rain that falls is something beautiful in appearance, such as honey or fruit, it signifies goodness for all people. If the rain consists of milk, oil, olive oil, or similar things, the interpretation is likewise. (It signifies the mercy of Allah (Exalted is He), His true religion, the assistance bestowed by the Almighty, the Qur’an, knowledge, and wisdom. At times, rain signifies an impending disaster and affliction, such as locusts, hail, and violent winds, especially when fire accompanies the falling rain or its water is hot. At times, rain signifies seditions and blood that will be shed. At times, harmful rain falling outside its season signifies illnesses.

If a person sees himself in a dream beneath a wall or an eave while rain is falling, it signifies harm that will come to him through words or torment, or that he will be beaten in proportion to the amount of rain that reaches him; or, if the dreamer is ill, it signifies a deterioration in his condition. This interpretation applies when the rain falls outside its season. If the rain falls in its season, it signifies that the dreamer will be prevented from his journey and his path because of illness or poverty, or that he will be imprisoned for a period corresponding to the amount of rain that reaches him.

If a person sees in a dream that he is drinking rainwater, then, if the rainwater is pure and clear, goodness will reach him. If it is turbid, illness will befall him in proportion to the amount of that water which he drinks. (Seeing rain that falls without causing harm signifies abundance, blessing, and wealth; seeing rain fall upon the house signifies that the members of the household will become anxious and sorrowful for some reason, or that the dreamer will grieve deeply because of losing a precious possession.

Seeing rain fall everywhere in a dream signifies that a request of which hope had been lost will once again come to the fore; if the rain falls not as water but in different objects and forms, it signifies that the people of that region will experience peace and happiness.

Ibn Sirin: Seeing rain in a dream, if it does not cause harm or destruction, signifies blessing, gain, and mercy. Rain also represents life, a living being upon the earth, or the fulfillment of a given promise. Rain falling only upon a particular place signifies sorrow and distress for the people of that place, or the loss of a beloved person. Seeing rain fall only upon one’s own house signifies personal blessing. If, however, one sees it falling upon the whole city, it signifies blessing for everyone. Rain falling exclusively upon one’s own house may also be interpreted as illness befalling someone in that house, or as one of its inhabitants suffering a severe and painful affliction.

Seeing stones or blood raining down from the sky signifies calamity and punishment on account of the sins of the people. Rain of sand or dust signifies an oppressive ruler in that place. Rain of earth without dust signifies abundance and a good harvest. Rain seen by a traveler in a dream signifies that he will encounter obstacles on his journey. A destructive rainstorm signifies deceit, fraud in weights and measures, or the spread of immorality in society. Seeing a destructive storm demolishing structures, ruining houses, and uprooting trees signifies a punishment for the corruption and sins of the inhabitants of that place. Beautiful rain signifies making peace with an enemy or helping a person in need.

Rain also represents a camel caravan, and a camel caravan likewise represents rain. Beautiful rain also signifies abundance, happiness, wells filled with rainwater, and sweet, clean, pure waters gushing forth from springs. Rain also signifies the revival of an old and stagnant matter, benefit, profit, blessing, deliverance from distress, the payment of debts, or a feeling of relief. Beautiful rain means blessing, a good harvest, and gain for the farmer. Rain of honey, butter, and similar things from the sky signifies blessing.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
