Reading the Qur’an or Other Things

Whoever sees in a dream that he is reading the Qur’an or something from it attains honor and exaltation. If he is sinful, Allah (Exalted is He) forgives his sin and accepts his repentance. If he is poor, he becomes wealthy; if he is in debt, he pays his debt. If he is to give testimony, he gives truthful testimony, or he delivers the trust in his possession to its rightful owner.

If he reads the Qur’an in a beautiful voice and mode in a dream, he attains honor, exaltation, and a good reputation. Whoever sees that he reads the Qur’an while altering the letters turns away from the truth and betrays his covenant. If he does not know what it is that he has read, sometimes that person gives false testimony or says what he does not know.

Whoever sees in a dream, while reading the Qur’an, that people are listening to him is appointed to an office, and according to his authority in that office, the things he commands and forbids are accepted. Reading in a dream the surahs that are mostly recited over the dead indicates the death of the sick person.

Seeing in a dream people who recite the Noble Qur’an indicates the honored and leading men of the people. Therefore, if a person sees a group of people gathered together in one place, a congregation of the honorable among the people will gather in that place. If a person who does not know how to read well while awake sees in a dream that he is reading his record of deeds on the Day of Resurrection, this indicates that he will thereafter become wealthy, attain all his needs, and be secure from what he fears. If what he reads is good, then it is good. If what he reads is evil, it indicates sorrow, grief, and becoming known for those things, and falling into matters such as debt and blood-money.

Whoever sees in a dream that he is reading a page or any book attains an inheritance. Whoever sees that he reads the page from its reverse side will have debts accumulate upon him. Whoever sees that he is reading a book obtains an inheritance. If he is a skilled reader, he is appointed to an office.

Whoever sees in a dream that he is reading his record of deeds repents of his sins. If a person sees that he is reading a foreign book beautifully and correctly, that person travels to a state he does not know and succeeds there in carrying out a renowned undertaking. Whoever sees that he reads a foreign book incorrectly will be delivered from a foreign state, or he will fall ill, or recover from his illness. It is interpreted in this manner because what he has read is foreign.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.

In the interpretation, the themes of success and reputation, work and responsibility, health and body, spiritual signs, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
