Retribution (Qisas)

It signifies a person’s departing from the position in which he is found, a long life, or beginning to perform the prayer and observe the fast.

Seeing retribution carried out in a dream is a sign of a long life. Retribution signifies a person’s departing from the condition in which he is found. At times, it signifies compelling a person to do something that will cleanse him of sins, such as obliging him to perform the prayer and observe the fast.

Ibn Sirin: Seeing retribution in a dream signifies a long life and breaking away from one’s past; or it denotes the establishment of justice, an expiation that will purify a person of his sins, and acts of worship such as the prayer, voluntary fasting, and almsgiving.

With the right perspective, it can signify restoring balance, recovery, and developing a new understanding.

Uncertainty, indecision, or a tendency to take on excessive burden may be observed.

In the interpretation, the themes of work and responsibility, success and reputation, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
