Performing Istighfar / Asking Forgiveness
Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq: There are four interpretations of performing istighfar in a dream:
1—Wealth
2—Children
3—Asking Allah for forgiveness
4—Repenting from sins.
Ibn Sirin: Performing istighfar in a dream means asking Allah for forgiveness; it signifies that Allah will bestow upon you children and wealth. Indeed, it is stated in the Noble Qur’an: “Ask forgiveness of your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving.
Ask forgiveness, that He may send down upon you abundant rain from the sky, increase you in wealth and sons, bestow gardens upon you, and cause rivers to flow for you.”
Positive Meaning
With the right perspective, it can signify restoring balance, recovery, and developing a new understanding.
Shadow Meaning
Uncertainty, indecision, or a tendency to take on excessive burden may be observed.
Advice
In the interpretation, the themes of spiritual signs, work and responsibility, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
