Seeing a shield in a dream signifies measures that protect a person against material and spiritual harms, and fasting; for a woman, the shield signifies her husband, and for a husband, his wife; seeing one who manufactures shields signifies a commander or ruler who incites the army to war.

It indicates that whoever sees a shield in his dream has enemies around him and conducts himself cautiously.

Seeing someone using a shield in a dream signifies a person holding an authoritative position within the army, and a commander.

According to another narration: Seeing a shield in a dream indicates fasting. Indeed, our Prophet said, “Fasting is a shield.” At times, the shield signifies a friend who prevails by means of evidence and proof.

Seeing a shield together with other weapons in a dream indicates that the person’s enemies will be unable to approach him or offer resistance. If an artisan or merchant sees a shield placed beside his merchandise and fabrics, or beside his shop or workers, it indicates that he will enhance the value and circulation of his goods by swearing many oaths.

If the person who sees a shield in his dream has a child, that child will provide for all his needs and protect him from evils and mischief. Whoever sees himself protecting himself with a shield in a dream will take refuge with a powerful person and, through him, will not bow before the enemy.

If the shield seen in a dream is valuable, it signifies a wealthy and beautiful woman; if it is worthless, it signifies an ugly woman. The shield that a person sees in a dream signifies, together with prudence, that which armor indicates. Whoever sees himself purchasing a shield will encounter a woman. At times, the shield signifies protection from that which a person fears.

Ibn Sirin: Seeing a shield in a dream represents a broad piece carried by warriors for protection; in a dream, it signifies a loyal yet disputatious friend. It also signifies a well-mannered and upright person, and a sincere individual who protects his friends and assists them. A valuable shield in a dream signifies a beautiful and affluent spouse, or any female acquaintance or female relative. If the shield is worthless, it is interpreted contrariwise.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
