Staff and Cane

According to Ibn Sirin: To see a staff or cane in a dream is interpreted as a noble person. Whoever sees himself leaning upon a staff or cane shall attain what he desires through the aid of a noble man. Whoever sees the cane in his hand grow longer shall attain his wish; whoever sees it grow shorter shall not attain his purpose.

To see in a dream that the cane in one’s hand suddenly becomes a serpent indicates that one’s friends shall become enemies. Whoever sees that the cane in his hand is not his own cane, but has been changed, shall die. To see one’s cane speaking with him is a sign that he shall receive blessing and benefit.

To see oneself beating someone with a cane in a dream indicates that one shall utter an evil word against him. Whoever strikes a stone with his cane and sees water issue forth from it, if he is poor, shall become rich. If he is ill, or has a sick person, he shall recover; if he is a merchant, his profit shall increase; and if he has a traveler, the person he awaits shall come.

According to one narration, it indicates wealth that he shall easily acquire. Whoever sees the cane in his hand broken shall be dismissed from his occupation. If he is a merchant, he shall become bankrupt. According to another narration: To see a staff in a dream indicates a man who is honorable, strong, mighty, and one who assists the people.

Whoever sees his staff broken in a dream, if he is an official, shall be removed from his office. If he is a merchant, his commerce shall slip from his hand. Whoever sees himself striking the place upon which he stands with the staff shall prevail over that place, or over the person who is there and has seized it.

The staff seen in a dream represents a person in whom reliance is placed. Whoever sees himself beating another person with a staff in a dream shall speak ill of the one beaten, uttering words that bring disgrace upon his honour.

Whoever sees himself striking a stone with a staff, and water springing forth and flowing from it, if he is poor, shall become rich. If he is wealthy, his wealth shall increase. At times, the dreamer shall attain sustenance without suffering hardship. At times, the staff indicates a person possessed of a deviant religion.

With the right perspective, it can signify restoring balance, recovery, and developing a new understanding.

Uncertainty, indecision, or a tendency to take on excessive burden may be observed.
