Ibn Sirin: A stone: In a dream, a stone that has been cast represents a dead person. It may also represent hard-hearted, heedless, or idle people. Among people of knowledge, it is common to describe an ignorant person as a stone. Possessing a precious stone in a dream may signify, while awake, making a purchase, attaining a powerful position over someone of the same calibre, or marrying a compatible person. To see oneself turned to stone indicates that one has rebelled against one’s Lord; and if one is ill, it signifies that one will die of one’s illness or suffer a stroke. A stone falling upon the earth signifies the wrath of Allah Most High, a calamity, or that a tyrannical person will rule the country. If the stone shatters or explodes after falling, the harm will reach every household.

Carrying sacks full of stones or moving mountains means attempting to accomplish a difficult matter. Hanging a stone around one’s neck like an amulet indicates that a calamity or evil will occur. If a poor person sees in a dream that he strikes a rock with a staff, splits it open, and water emerges from it, this signifies abundance and sustenance.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
