Sweeping

Sweeping in a dream is an indication of deficiency in wealth and straitness in livelihood. According to Ibn Sirin, whoever sees in a dream that he is sweeping his house will part with some of his wealth. According to one account, the broom signifies a servant. Any good or evil condition seen in this dream is interpreted in accordance with the servant.

According to Kirmani, if one sees that he is sweeping the place where he sits, and has a sick person, the latter’s death is near.

To see oneself sweeping a place in order to worship or earn merit signifies a good condition and wealth. To see oneself sweeping a place and gathering the sweepings signifies cleanliness and the accumulation of wealth.

To see oneself sweeping a prayer-place or mosque is evidence that there is love of Allah (May He be Exalted) in one’s heart. According to another account: Sweeping in a dream is an indication of good for an artisan and for one engaged in dirty and rusty work.

Whoever sees in a dream that he is sweeping another person’s house will attain something from that person’s wealth. For the wealthy, sweeping in a dream is an indication of poverty and of a deficiency that will occur in their possessions.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.

In the interpretation, the themes of success and reputation, financial matters, work and responsibility, inner world and awareness, the emotional tone in the dream and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
