Refuse

To see in a dream a place containing refuse is interpreted as the world. When some of the Companions asked our master the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about the state of the world, he pointed to a rubbish dump. Accordingly, according to some interpreters, the things eaten and worn in this world, or wealth and animals, when they die and cease to exist, go to the rubbish dump and become refuse. By this measure, the world represents refuse.

Whoever dreams that he has climbed upon a rubbish dump or a heap of refuse, if he sits there, gains possession of the world, and the world gives him everything. According to one narration, a hole opened in the midst of the refuse represents falling into distress. There are also those who say that refuse is interpreted as every kind of property. Whoever dreams that he is filling his handkerchief or pocket with rubbish becomes a possessor of wealth.

Whoever dreams that he takes refuse from a rubbish dump in a sack or a vessel and brings it home will earn property and money and become wealthy. According to what some have said, a rubbish dump is a place where wealth and money are gathered, that is, a treasury. To dream that one takes rubbish from one’s house in a sack or a vessel, carries it outside, and empties it means that the dreamer spends his property on futile things. Whoever dreams that he owns a rubbish dump becomes very wealthy. Whoever dreams that he buys a rubbish dump begins a work from which he will earn much money, and, growing ever wealthier, becomes a possessor of property and estates.

According to Abdulgani al-Nabulsi: To see refuse in a dream is interpreted as the world, while rubbish is interpreted as wealth and money. If one dreams of seeing himself upon a rubbish dump, or buying one, or having one inherited by him, or of his house becoming a rubbish dump, and he is ill or fearful for any reason, he will be rid of all these things. Great avenues of gain will be opened to him in this world, and he will become wealthy in a short time. If he is poor, he will become rich or come into an important inheritance; if he is unmarried, he will marry a very wealthy girl.

Some interpreters have interpreted refuse and the rubbish heap accumulated from it as a place of business, such as people’s shops and stores. Whoever dreams that he is sitting upon a rubbish dump will attain great honor. Whoever dreams that he undresses in a rubbish dump will lose his occupation. If he is ill, he will die; if he is wealthy, he will become poor.

According to another narration: To see refuse in a dream signifies good for one engaged in base and filthy occupations; for the poor, it signifies wealth and the abundance of their property and belongings. For the wealthy, it signifies leadership and the abundance of their property and belongings, as well as the dignity and honor they will attain in the eyes of all people.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.

In the interpretation, the themes of success and reputation, financial matters, work and responsibility, inner world and awareness, the emotional tone in the dream and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
