Being Branded
To see oneself branded in a dream means spending money on a place that is neither approved nor good. To see oneself branded in several places of the body at once signifies being occupied with affairs whose evil exceeds their good. If a great and beneficent person places a mark upon his heart with his hand, this signifies a blessed appointment and honor.
It is related that one day Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, saw in his dream a hand resembling that of our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, placing two marks upon his heart, and he asked our Master about it the following day. The Pride of the Universe said: “You shall attend to the affairs of the people for two years.” Indeed, Abu Bakr held the caliphate for two years.
