Shaving

To shave the head in a dream signifies a word spoken for the arrival of some benefit. Whoever sees that he has shaved his head in a dream spends his wealth in the way of Allah, Exalted is He. If this dream occurs in the summer season, it sometimes signifies a benefit that will come to that person, and at times relief and recovery from headache and eye pain.

If a person sees in a dream that his head has been shaved in the winter season, it sometimes signifies grief and hardship, a debt that must be paid, and illness; at times, shaving a place that is not to be shaved signifies calamity and hardship that will befall the fruits, and the compensation incumbent upon him.

Shaving the head in a dream signifies fulfilling a trust and becoming safe from fear. Cutting the hair is likewise. Shaving the head during the pilgrimage signifies paying a debt and, together with this, attaining conquest and victory. Cutting the hair during the pilgrimage signifies deliverance from fear.

Whoever shaves his head in a dream, if he is in hardship and difficulty or under debt, will be delivered from it. Some have said that if a wealthy person sees himself shaving his head out of season, he becomes poor. If he is indebted, he pays his debt, by the permission of Allah. If the dreamer is one who carries weapons, his power and awe depart. If he is wealthy, a decrease comes to his wealth. If he is indebted, his debt is paid.

If he sees that his head has been shaved in a dream, he gains victory over his enemy and attains honor and strength. Whoever sees that he has cut the hair of his head falls from his position, rank, and authority. Whoever sees himself shaving his own head is afflicted by an illness.

For a person who customarily shaves his head, seeing his head shaved in a dream is good and auspicious for him. If he sees that he has shaved his head with his own hand, he pays his debt. If a person sees that a woman’s head has been shaved, her husband divorces her, or a separation occurs between them for some reason.

If a woman sees in a dream that her husband has cut her hair, her husband confines her to the house. Seeing that one’s wife’s braided hair has been cut signifies that the woman will never again bear a child. Whoever sees in a dream that he has shaved his own hair loses his strength.

Seeing half of one’s beard shaved in a dream signifies poverty and the departure of one’s position and fame. If he sees that an unknown young man has shaved his beard, his position and rank are taken from him by an enemy whom he knows, or by one who bears the same name as his enemy, or by someone resembling his enemy.

If an old man shaves his beard in a dream, his position is taken from him by an unfounded and oppressive person. If he sees that his beard has been shaved, it signifies that his livelihood will become unlawful for the sake of intercession and that the value of his wealth will depart. If a person takes his beard in his palm and cuts off what remains beyond it, it signifies that he gives the alms-tax of his wealth.

If a person sees in a dream that he has seized his paternal uncle’s beard and cut it all off, his uncle’s entire inheritance remains for him. If he sees that he has eaten something from his paternal uncle’s beard, he attains an inheritance in the amount that he ate. Shaving the beard in a dream signifies the loss of wealth and rank. At times, they have said, shaving the beard signifies a deception, or a calamity and decrease that will befall agriculture, or the sudden death of the dreamer’s child or wife. If he sees that he has shaved his head as he does while awake, is pleased with it, and goes out and walks among the people, he becomes wealthy and serves his family.

If a woman sees in a dream that she has shaved her head, it signifies her own death or that of her husband, or that a hidden defect of hers will be exposed. Some interpreters have said that it signifies that goodness will come to that woman from her husband. If she sees that she has shaved her moustache, or that her moustache has been cut, some good comes to her. If a person sees in a dream that he has completely shaved his head and beard, if he is ill, he is freed from his illness; if he is indebted, from his debt; and if he is distressed and sorrowful, from these afflictions. At times, they have said, this dream is evil.

Whoever sees in a dream that he has shaved the nape of his neck has his debt paid without his knowledge. Whoever sees that he has shaved the hair of his belly is granted something by Allah, Exalted is He, with which to pay his debt, and his condition is rectified. If he sees that he has shaved the hair of his pubic region, if he is wealthy, his wealth and estate depart. Some have said that his finances depart through the acquisition of property. If he is poor, he becomes wealthy and is delivered from poverty.

Whoever sees in a dream that he has shaved his pubic region with a razor attains some good from his wife. If a woman sees this dream, she attains some good from her husband.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
