Vomiting

Whoever sees in a dream that he has vomited repents and turns unto Allah. Or he gives the right to its rightful owner. If he vomits with difficulty, he shall be afflicted with torment. If the person who sees this dream is ill, he shall die. If a pregnant woman sees it, she shall miscarry her child.

Whoever sees in his dream that he eats the thing he had brought forth by vomiting shall go back upon his word and take back what he had forgiven. According to one report, this dream signifies miserliness. Whoever sees that he wishes to vomit but cannot vomit finds repentance difficult. Even if he repents, he shall again commit sin. To see the vomit rise to the throat and then return is interpreted in the same manner.

Whoever sees that, although he wished to vomit, nothing came out of his mouth, or that something he detested came out of his mouth, this signifies illness; to see phlegm issue from his mouth during vomiting signifies deliverance from illness in a short time; and to see that he vomits all the things in his stomach signifies destruction.

According to Ja‘far al-Sadiq, may Allah be pleased with him, seeing oneself vomit in a dream is interpreted in six ways: repentance, regret, harm, deliverance from grief, returning a trust, and resolving difficult affairs.

Whoever sees in a dream that he vomits while fasting shall pay his debt. Whoever, while fasting and about to vomit, restrains himself and does not vomit shall be granted success in interpreting or reciting the Qur’an; if he is not qualified for this, he shall speak a beneficial word. Whoever vomits milk becomes an apostate from Islam.

To see oneself vomit a thick food signifies that something belonging to the dreamer shall be lost. Whoever sees himself vomit something red in color shall repent of evils and guard himself against them. If he is in truth among the repentant and righteous men, he shall persevere and continue in his repentance and righteousness. Whoever sees that the things he brings forth by vomiting are many and colored with a beautiful hue shall have a fair-faced and good-natured child born to him.

With the right perspective, it can signify restoring balance, recovery, and developing a new understanding.

Uncertainty, indecision, or a tendency to take on excessive burden may be observed.
