Fluid Mud

A person’s walking in fluid mud in a dream signifies the grief and sorrow that will befall him, and the sedition and hardship that he will encounter. If someone sees in a dream that he is walking in fluid mud, it signifies grief, sorrow, and fear for the people of that place and for the person who enters the mud.

If a person sees in a dream that he has become wet in a heavily falling muddy rain, it signifies that he will fall into grief, sorrow, and fear in proportion to the amount of that rain that strikes him. Some interpreters have said that if a person sees himself in fluid mud in a dream, it signifies a deficiency in his worldly standing. If a sick person sees fluid mud in a dream, it signifies the continuation of his illness. However, if he sees himself emerging from fluid mud, it signifies that the sick person will be delivered from illness and attain health and well-being.

If a person who is not sick sees in a dream that he is walking in mud or entering mud, it signifies that he will enter a calamity, a dungeon or prison, or various tribulations in the presence of the sultan. Whoever sees that he has escaped from the mud, or that he has cleansed his garment and body of mud, will be delivered from the sin present in him religiously, or from grief and loss in worldly affairs. If he cannot escape from the mud and cannot clean his garment, then sin and grief will befall that person in proportion to the amount of mud that strikes him.

Kneading mud and making mud bricks in a dream contains no good whatsoever. For this dream signifies grief, calamity, and enmity until that mud brick dries and becomes earth. If the mud brick dries and becomes earth, it signifies property that he will attain after toil, hardship, calamity, and enmity. For earth signifies property. Fluid mud signifies enmity and hardship, and sometimes debt or speaking concerning honor and chastity.

Fluid mud sometimes signifies that his wife is pregnant with a male child, in accordance with the meaning of the verse: “Indeed, We created man from an extract of clay” (Sūrat al-Mu’minūn, Verse 12). Mud signifies the interruption of a journey and abandoning the prayer halfway through. Since, when the word “vaha,” meaning fluid mire, is derived, the word “havi,” meaning a year, is formed, it signifies that a year has passed over something. Sometimes fluid mud signifies blessing or evil, or taking pride in denying Allah (Glorious and Exalted is He).

If a person sees in a dream that his head, hair, and beard are covered in fluid mud, it signifies that he will engage in agriculture and occupy himself with matters of earth and mud. Whoever sees soft, watery earth becoming mud will be spoken of favorably, and this condition will become a means for his obedience to Allah (Glorious and Exalted is He).

Whoever sees in a dream that his fluid mud is kneaded dough will attain lawful and wholesome sustenance through labor. If someone sees that the mud is black and its color is red, it signifies his moving from one place to another or to a group of people, or that he prefers white to black.

Whoever sees in a dream that the color of the mud has changed from red to black prefers black to white. Sometimes fluid mud signifies an evil woman of bad character, harsh and seldom becoming pregnant. Seeing fluid mud in a dream during a time of drought and famine signifies glad tidings of abundant crops. If the mud seen is from a well, it signifies inheritance, the emergence of blessing, or the trusts and secrets of the owner of the well.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
