Worship

To see oneself worshipping in a dream signifies that the family will have a happy life. Dreams of worship are always interpreted as most auspicious. The person will be delivered from his troubles and distresses. Such dreams are always interpreted for good. Whoever sees in a dream that he is worshipping will be delivered from his troubles and problems. Whoever sees himself worshipping will rid himself of his cares and distress. He will attain a far better position than before.

To see oneself performing one or several of the religious obligations in accordance with their prescribed conditions signifies the attainment of the good of this world and the Hereafter, uprightness in one’s course, and inner peace. To see oneself worshipping in an unsuitable place or in an incomplete manner signifies deficiency and faulty conditions; to see oneself worshipping in a manner not permitted by religion signifies deviation and disappointment, while every kind of obligatory, necessary, and supererogatory worship commanded and approved by Islam signifies glad tidings, salvation, and help and grace that shall come from Allah Most High.

To see oneself performing any form of worship, or worshipping in the manner in which one saw oneself worshipping, signifies that one’s desires concerning the affairs of this world and the Hereafter shall be fulfilled; to see oneself worshipping in a manner not permitted signifies that one shall be deprived of goodness in both worlds; to see oneself performing worship in a place where it is not permitted signifies corruption; and to see oneself withdraw into a place and worship secretly signifies deliverance from grief and sorrow.

Ja‘far al-Sadiq (may Allah be pleased with him) interprets worship in five ways: drawing near to Allah (Glorious and Most High is He), entering the spiritual path, glad tidings, victory over the enemy, and salvation. According to the form of the dream seen, these five matters are interpreted in accordance with their respective meanings concerning the dream.

According to Abu Sa‘id al-Wa‘iz: Whoever sees in his dream that he has repented to Allah Most High shall attain wealth, sustenance, and children. Whoever sees in a dream that he praises and gives thanks to the Lord Most High shall attain an increase of blessings and abundant sustenance.

According to another narration: To worship Allah (Glorious and Most High is He) in a dream, whether the worship be obligatory or customary, signifies that one shall find the right path and attain felicity in this world and the Hereafter. To see oneself worshipping something other than Allah (Glorious and Most High is He) signifies that one’s affairs shall go awry, that one shall incur the wrath of Allah (Glorious and Most High is He), and that one shall suffer material and spiritual losses. Some interpreters have said: Worship signifies love of Allah, turning toward the right path, sustenance and dominion, glad tidings and salvation, or victory over the enemy.
