Seeing One’s Relative

Seeing one’s relative in a dream signifies that the dreamer will suffer a material and spiritual loss and, on account of this loss, experience difficulties in family and kinship relations; yet it is interpreted that he will strive greatly to remove the harm caused by this material and spiritual loss and to mend the damaged relations with his family and relatives. After his efforts, he will receive auspicious and fortunate assistance, improve his condition, and free himself from his troubles by taking new steps; indeed, he will make a new beginning with the support of his family, though he must exert himself greatly for this.

According to some dream interpreters, a relative is interpreted as support, strength, and power. Thus, if the person who sees his relative in a dream is engaged in business, it is interpreted that he will enter a new undertaking; if he is married, that he will acquire a new possession with the support of his relatives; and if he is unmarried, that he will be introduced to a new person through his relatives and marry.

Seeing one’s relative pregnant in a dream shows that, after suffering hardships, the dreamer will suddenly receive help at a time when he least expects it. If the dreamer has a place of business, it is interpreted that he will lose this business because of debts, but, through the aid of one of his close relations, he will pay his debts and save his business once again; and if the dreamer is married, that he will overcome the material and spiritual problems he experiences with his spouse through the intervention of someone who is a very close friend of his family.

If the relative seen in the dream is a close relative, such as an elder sister, sibling, or cousin, it is also interpreted as words and speech. That is, it indicates that the dreamer’s word will carry weight among his close circle, and that when the dreamer hears of this, certain troubles, estrangements, and resentments will arise, but that this hostility and tension will come to an end through the people who intervene between them. If the pregnant relative seen in the dream gives birth to a girl, this shows that there is someone close to the dreamer who is angry and offended with him and expects an explanation or an apology from him; but if the pregnant relative seen in the dream gives birth to a boy, it is interpreted as the presence around the dreamer of a close relation who prays for him, feels grateful to him because of a kindness he has done, and feels very close to him.

Killing one’s relative in a dream is the harbinger of sudden and unexpected events. It is interpreted that, if the dreamer is not careful in the undertaking to which he has applied himself and does not keep his relations sound, he will suddenly be overturned and will never be able to recover; but, on the contrary, if he maintains his relations well and remains vigilant against ill-intentioned people around him, he will add gain to his gain.

Killing a pregnant relative in a dream indicates that there is a very well-intentioned and helpful person around the dreamer, and that, while this person is actually trying to help him, the dreamer will break his heart because of a misunderstanding, then realize this after a certain time has passed and apologize. If the relative killed in the dream is a man, it shows that the dreamer will suddenly be saved from a very difficult material and spiritual situation by receiving help at a time he never expects, and will therefore feel gratitude toward that person. If the relative killed in the dream is a woman, it signifies that the dreamer will, at a moment he least expects, be ensnared in his working life by a person whom he regards as close and with whom he shares his troubles, but who is in truth ill-intentioned, and that, before he has recovered from the shock of this, he will lose some of the assets in his possession in material terms.

Kissing, being kissed, or kissing one another in a dream is generally interpreted as glad tidings. Kissing one’s relative in a dream signifies that the dreamer will unknowingly and unconsciously do a kindness to a relative, friend, or companion from his close circle; indeed, through this kindness, he will bring peace and happiness into that person’s life and also bring him to material prosperity.

If the dreamer is married and sees himself kissing a relative in his dream, it indicates that he will have a child in the near future, and that he will share this happy and auspicious news with those close to him and receive praise and good wishes from them. If the person who sees the dream is unmarried and kisses a relative in his dream, it is interpreted that he will soon meet a new person through his relatives, come to love that person, and announce to his circle a ceremony such as a betrothal or engagement, the first step toward entering the house of marriage.

If the relative kissed in the dream is a child, it indicates that news which will make the dreamer rejoice is on its way and will reach his ears soon, and that the dreamer, upon receiving this news, will become very happy and attain prosperity and tranquillity in both material and spiritual respects.

In contrast to the literal meaning of the word, death in a dream is interpreted as resurrection and hopes springing anew. Seeing one’s relative dead in a dream indicates that the dreamer will recover by receiving material or spiritual support from someone close to him. If the dreamer attended this relative’s funeral ceremony in his dream, it is interpreted that he will extend a hand to a relative in need and help him, and that, because of this, the hopes of the person who receives the help will spring anew and he will pray greatly for the dreamer; at the same time, after this assistance, the dreamer’s path and fortune will open, he will attain material and spiritual abundance, and he will become happy.

If the relative who dies in the dream is a child, it indicates that, suddenly, at a moment the dreamer least expects and when all his hopes have been exhausted and he cannot even imagine it, a wish he greatly desires will come true, his life will change accordingly, and he will become very happy.

According to some dream interpreters, it is interpreted that the person who sees his relative dead in a dream has given a promise and, because he has not kept this promise, indeed has forgotten it, his path, luck, and fortune are closed; but if he remembers this promise and fulfils it, his luck, fortune, and life will change for the better and his destiny will turn.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.
