January 22, 2027 Full Moon: Key Information

• Date: January 22, 2027
• Sign/degree: Leo 2°15′
• Opposite sign (Sun): Aquarius

What Does the Full Moon Represent in Astrology?

If the new moon is the planting of a seed, the full moon is the moment that seed turns into fruit. The Sun and Moon are directly opposite each other in the sky; this tension makes visible the results of a process that began two weeks ago — awareness, fulfillment, and sometimes the need for tension and release becomes heightened during this period.

What Does the Leo Full Moon Illuminate?

This full moon occurring on the Leo-Aquarius axis highlights the tension between individual self-expression (Leo) and social belonging (Aquarius). Themes that may become prominent during this period include:

• Visibility of the results of a creative project or personal goal
• Searching for balance between the need for appreciation and group/community expectations
• Clarification of a heartfelt decision; moments of fulfillment or clarity in romantic relationships
• Awareness of how to use your individual brilliance for a community/cause

What Can Be Done During This Full Moon?

Full moon periods are traditionally considered favorable for letting go and gratitude practices: reviewing a matter that has developed over the past two weeks, noting things you are grateful for, or symbolically letting go of a burden you no longer want to carry. With Leo energy, a particularly beneficial form of creative expression (writing, performing, showcasing yourself) can be helpful during this period.
