Supplication
In a dream, one who supplicates and for whom supplication is made signifies goodness and blessing; supplicating at the end of the prayer signifies the realization of good things; making an evil supplication while reproaching one’s own soul signifies giving thanks for a blessing.
Making a curse against another in a dream signifies bringing him to ruin; making a curse against someone unjustly signifies wronging him. Not making a supplication despite wishing to do so signifies the delay of goodness and benevolent deeds.
To see in a dream that one is supplicating while asleep signifies neglecting an important matter, or that the supplication to be made while awake will be accepted. Reciting a supplication known by heart in a dream signifies the attainment of a particular aim; supplicating while looking at a text signifies following righteous persons who hold a leading position in religion; a supplication that remains unfinished is interpreted as being unable to complete the matter upon which one is engaged.
A supplication made in a dream signifies sound faith and the performance of acts of worship consciously and appropriately, in conformity with both their outward form and their inner essence. A supplication made collectively generally signifies mercy and well-being that will come; seeing an unknown person supplicating in a place signifies a person who desires good for mankind, a learned and pious man, or a saint of lofty spiritual resolve.
To supplicate in a dream is a symbol of happiness and success. It is exceedingly auspicious and very good. The person will have no problem left.
The end of one who supplicates for himself in a dream and asks the Most High Allah for mercy will be good. Seeing oneself supplicating for another signifies attaining good in this world and the Hereafter; seeing oneself supplicating for all people is evidence of desiring the welfare of the populace.
Supplicating after the prayer in a dream signifies good; cursing a person signifies bringing him to ruin through one’s words; cursing one’s own soul signifies giving thanks for the blessings of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He); seeing that one is unable to supplicate despite wishing to do so signifies failure in the affairs one undertakes in this world; seeing oneself supplicating in sleep signifies that one has neglected an important matter. Seeing oneself supplicating in darkness signifies deliverance from grief and sorrow.
One of the great interpreters, Sayyid Ahmad Jabir, says: Seeing in a dream that one recites a supplication, or that one attends an assembly of supplication and says “Amin” to the supplications recited, is evidence that one’s supplications have been accepted, that one’s wishes will be fulfilled, and that one has been deemed worthy of the forgiveness of the Truth. Seeing oneself interrupting one’s supplication halfway through while supplicating in a dream signifies leaving unfinished a matter one has begun.
To supplicate in a dream is a sign of happiness and success.
