Reciting a Qur’anic Verse
A Qur’anic verse signifies a blessed life. It is a dream indicating that one will guide people and that the virtue of religious knowledge will be emphasized.
It is related that whoever sees himself reciting a Qur’anic verse in his dream will have a pure heart, remain constantly vigilant in order not to commit wrongful deeds in his life, and, acting in this manner, will not live according to the aims of other people.
If the dreamer has a wish or desire, it indicates that, by virtue of his pure heart, deeds, and intention, it will be accepted; that within the shortest time he will undertake a work that will be the means of good and will engage in more scholarly endeavors. It signifies the abundance, prosperity, and wealth to be attained in life, and emphasizes tranquility.
Reciting a Qur’anic verse in a dream signifies the end of longing and reunion for those who are far from their homeland and home; for those whose relations with their families are broken, it signifies the end of estrangement; and it signifies tranquility both in this world and in the Hereafter. It is related that those who feel themselves in danger will feel that the danger has disappeared, and that long-standing enmities, such as blood feuds, will come to an end, thereby establishing an enduring atmosphere of peace.
A person who sees himself reciting Surat al-Baqarah, among the verses of mercy, is said to have seen a dream that will be the means of good. It signifies that beautiful days and affairs will come into his life and that blessed times will arrive with their prosperity. It is related that, being secure from every kind of evil, opportunities will arise for taking steps, testing oneself, and performing good deeds by staying away from wickedness.
A person who sees himself reciting Surat al-Nisā’, among the verses of mercy, will have made or will make certain mistakes in his life; the mistakes will not be irreparable, and he will seek mercy from Allah, whereupon Allah will show him compassion and grant him tranquility. It signifies that, in order not to reflect the troubles he suffers upon others, he will experience spiritual unrest personally, pass through difficult days, and eventually be delivered from these events.
A person who sees himself reciting Surat Āl ʿImrān, among the verses of mercy, is interpreted as having suffered troubles throughout his life or as suffering troubles after the dream for various reasons and showing patience; by virtue of the reliance upon Allah that he demonstrates, he will be delivered from his troubles on account of his patience, and will attain days for which he will give thanks and thereby find relief.
It is related that seeing a deceased person reciting the verses of mercy in a dream signifies that the dreamer’s or the deceased person’s station in the Hereafter will be good, that he will enter Paradise without suffering torment, and that, in order not to endure hardship in the life to come, he will live in this world devoted to his religion.
There are reports that whoever sees himself reciting the Verses of Punishment in fear will be afraid in life of the three-letter beings and of spiritual conditions; by confronting these matters, he will purify himself spiritually in the shortest time, rid himself of his fears one by one, and advance with assured steps. It is interpreted that material and spiritual troubles will pass in the shortest time and that an inward relief will be experienced.
Whoever sees himself reciting the Verses of Punishment while laughing will not suffer hardship in his life; because he lives in comfort, he has forgotten or will forget the Hereafter, and because people forget the Hereafter, he will become immersed in sin. It signifies that, when he dies, he will endure difficult days in the Hereafter and die in distress.
Whoever sees himself reciting the Verses of Punishment while sitting is said to be facing certain troubles and striving in an Islamic manner to dispel them; he will be delivered from all the troubles upon his head and attain peace and ease. It signifies that the circumstances causing fear or apprehension for those who fear a close person, such as a father, mother, spouse, or beloved, will disappear, and that they will enter into more sincere relationships and attain happiness.
Whoever sees himself reciting Yā Sīn because he is afraid is said to be able to attain with ease everything he has desired throughout his life; if his wishes are material, it signifies that his condition will be good. It is related that he will become one who fulfills or will fulfill his acts of worship so that his spiritual wishes may be realized. It signifies that he will be delivered from troubles, see days of ease, and enjoy a long life together with his loved ones.
A person who sees himself reciting Yā Sīn against the evil eye has seen something exceedingly auspicious, for Surat Yā Sīn is foremost among the most blessed and special surahs of the Noble Qur’an. It is related that his affairs will be open, that blessed works will come about, and that his affairs will proceed smoothly.
A person who sees himself reciting Yā Sīn so that his prayers may be accepted is interpreted as being granted a long life, completing his life in good health, and dying in tranquility. In every respect, it signifies that he will undertake blessed works and achieve success without suffering difficulty or hardship.
A wealthy person who sees himself reciting Surat ʿAbasa is a conceited individual who looks down upon people arrogantly and will suffer harm on account of this; because the harm he will suffer will bring about difficult days, the dream serves as a warning. It is a dream emphasizing that he must change his arrogant nature and that arrogance is the work of Satan.
It is related that a man who sees himself reciting Surat ʿAbasa is or will be cold in his conduct toward people. It is a dream advising him to pay attention to his behavior and to devise a means of establishing communication among people. It emphasizes that attention must be paid to what is done in life.
A woman who sees herself reciting Surat ʿAbasa is wealthy or will become wealthy; the dream draws attention to her extravagance in failing to give the due of her property. It emphasizes the zakat that she must give from her wealth and is interpreted as guiding her toward good.
