Shooting Arrows

Ibn Sirin: Shooting arrows in a dream is interpreted as bombarding someone or a place; otherwise, it indicates backbiting people or slandering them. Shooting arrows in a dream may also indicate taking medicine or giving an injection to a sick person. If the arrows have no arrowheads or tips, this indicates disappointment. If a person sees that he is shooting arrows and that he himself is also the target, this indicates that he will attain his aim of meeting his Lord. However, if he remains in this world, his rank will rise and he will gain honor. To see in a dream two upright men shooting arrows at one another indicates that those who strike their targets are in the right, and those who lose are in the wrong. Shooting arrows at people in a dream indicates backbiting them, speaking ill of them, or engaging in idle talk.

Continually missing one’s target in a dream indicates a tongue that speaks ill. Hitting one’s target indicates attaining one’s goals or speaking the truth about someone known to him. Wearing a white garment, standing atop a mountain, and shooting arrows eastward and westward indicates, if he is qualified, that he will attain broad dominion over people and lands. In a dream, a person’s arrows represent his messages or writings.

With the right perspective, it can signify restoring balance, recovery, and developing a new understanding.

Uncertainty, indecision, or a tendency to take on excessive burden may be observed.

In the interpretation, the themes of general meaning, inner intuition, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concluded in the dream should be evaluated together.
