Sweets

Seeing sweets in a dream; sweets of every kind signify a pleasant livelihood, joy and happiness, escaping stinginess and acquiring the quality of generosity, tasting the delight of knowledge and faith, for the sinner the fleeting and deceptive pleasures of this world, recovery from illness, the release of the imprisoned, the return of the traveler, repentance and seeking forgiveness, beautiful and influential speech, and things that are the opposite of every circumstance and event that makes the world bitter for a person.

Seeing a confectioner in a dream denotes marriage, a generous and honorable person who does good to people, and glad tidings.

Ibn Sīrīn: Seeing sweets in a dream or eating sweets signifies a person’s sincerity in religious observance, the release of the imprisoned, the arrival of the traveler, the recovery of the sick, the marriage of the unmarried, guidance, repentance, learning the Qur’an, buying new clothes for one’s children, a faithful servant, or blessed wealth. Seasonal sweets signify witnessing an annual festival or the appointment of a just ruler. Feeling satiated with sweets in a dream may signify conceit, falsehood, or praise, and may indicate speaking beautiful words. Eating sweets in a dream may also signify symptoms of a cold. Fermented sweets or preserves, however, may signify healing.

If the sweet is made from four basic ingredients—honey, sugar, flour, and manna, dates, or other fillings—it signifies happiness, longevity, or escaping the consequences of a dangerous undertaking entered into through greed. For the believer, eating sweets signifies tasting the blessing of his faith; whereas for the unbeliever, it signifies immersion in the pleasures of this world.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.

In the interpretation, the themes of success and reputation, health and body, work and responsibility, and emotional life should be evaluated together with the emotional tone in the dream and how the symbol concludes.
