Seeing a bathhouse in a dream signifies a spouse and a woman, debt, distress and sorrow, stagnation in the market, a friend who is an emblem of compassion and goodness, or a receivable; having a bathhouse built signifies committing an evil deed; seeing a bathhouse is an indication of grief and sorrow.

Washing in a bathhouse with lukewarm water in a dream signifies joy and delight, paying one’s debt, and purification from sins; washing with very hot water signifies sadness; washing with cold water, or drinking cold water, signifies recovery from illness.

Opening the doors and windows of the bathhouse in a dream signifies the departure of grief and sorrow; entering the bathhouse while clothed signifies grief, distress, and anguish; washing while still clothed signifies suffering greatly by marrying a woman of bad character, or becoming excessively indebted.

Men and women washing together in a bathhouse in a dream signifies calamity and evil; taking the bathhouse as one’s dwelling signifies making wickedness one’s profession. The bathhouse sometimes indicates hardship that will come from a spouse, a sister, or a woman.

Seeing oneself as the bathhouse attendant in a dream signifies marrying a beautiful woman; if a woman sees herself as the bathhouse attendant, it signifies busying herself with reforming those under her command; seeing the bathhouse attendant signifies the departure of grief and distress and the payment of one’s debt.

If you have seen a bathhouse in a dream, this means that, for the sake of your health, you will withdraw for a while from the environment and people among whom you are. It may also be interpreted as new friendships. If the bathhouse is hot, soapy, and steamy, it signifies distress and great trouble. A bathhouse without soap or steam, from which clean water flows, indicates that the troubles will pass.

Building or repairing a bathhouse in a dream is not auspicious. Seeing a bathhouse demolished, however, is auspicious. Seeing a bathhouse in a dream signifies sorrow; washing there signifies relief and joy if the water is lukewarm, and grief and sadness if it is hot.

According to Ibn Kathir: Whoever sees in a dream that he has applied bathhouse herb, cleansed himself, and performed a full ritual ablution, if he is afraid, will attain security. If he is sorrowful, he will be relieved; if he is weak and ill, he will recover; if he is in debt, he will pay his debt; and if he is wealthy, his wealth will increase. Whoever sees himself drinking hot water in the bathhouse will be afflicted with a grave illness. Seeing a bathhouse in one’s neighborhood indicates that there is a prostitute woman in that vicinity.

According to Ja‘far al-Sadiq (may Allah be pleased with him), the dream of a bathhouse is interpreted in six ways: husband and wife, grief and sorrow, debt, a holiday—that is, stagnation and disorder in one’s affairs—a good friend, and a receivable. According to one account, seeing a bathhouse is interpreted as the woman who serves in the bathhouse or the eldest woman of the household.

Whoever sees in his dream that he is a bathhouse attendant will marry a beautiful woman; if a woman sees that she is a bathhouse attendant, it is an indication that she will put the administration of her household in order.

According to Ibn Kathir: Whoever sees that he has built a bathhouse will marry. Whoever sees that he has entered a bathhouse will suffer grief and distress in proportion to the bathhouse’s heat. Whoever sees that he has gone from one place to another within the bathhouse will pass from one state to another. Going from a good and clean place to a bad and filthy one indicates passing from a good state to a bad state, and the opposite signifies the reverse. Whoever sees that he is alone in the bathhouse will become the subject of women’s talk.

Whoever sees in a dream that he is in the bathhouse with his clothes on will fall into distress because of his mother, sister, or a female relative. Whoever sees that he has entered the women’s bathhouse will commit forbidden acts. Whoever reaches the door of the bathhouse but does not enter will quarrel with a man. Whoever sees that something belonging to him has been stolen in the bathhouse will bring a complaint against the government and file a lawsuit. There is no good in seeing oneself enter the bathhouse and finding it so cold that remaining there causes harm.

If the bathhouse in a dream is clean, supplied abundantly with hot and cold water, of moderate temperature, and the dreamer himself is also clean, such a dream is always good. Entering the bathhouse and seeing every part of it filthy indicates an abundance of sorrow; seeing women exposing their private parts in the bathhouse indicates godlessness and that one will commit a crime.

According to Abu Sa‘id al-Wa‘iz: The bathhouse is the house of goodness. Whoever sees that he has entered it, if he is sorrowful, will, by Allah’s permission, emerge into relief. Whoever sees that he has performed a full ritual ablution in the bathhouse will be freed from distress and sorrow. Whoever enters the bathhouse and sees there something forbidden to enter or forbidden to encounter, if that thing is good, there is no harm; but if it is evil and reprehensible, it is inauspicious. Opening the bathhouse’s door, window, or glass signifies a lessening of sorrow. Seeing a lamp being lit or burning in the bathhouse is not auspicious.

According to Abd al-Ghani al-Nabulsi (may Allah be pleased with him): Whoever enters a bathhouse in a dream and washes with very hot water will fall into sorrow and apprehension, or will become ill. Whoever establishes a drinking gathering in the bathhouse will commit adultery with a woman, and this will become known among the people. Whoever enters the private chamber of the bathhouse and sees the tap running, and, although he wishes to close it, cannot close it, it signifies that his wife is having relations with another man and that he wishes to prevent it but is unable to do so; seeing hot water overflowing from the basin and running away signifies that a quarrel will arise between him and his wife.

Some interpreters interpret the bathhouse as follows: The bathhouse is Hell, and the bathhouse attendant is its gatekeeper. The bathhouse is a court, and the bathhouse attendant is the governor. The bathhouse is a woman, and the bathhouse attendant is her husband. The bathhouse is a place of adultery, and the bathhouse attendant is its assistant. The bathhouse is a dungeon, and the bathhouse attendant is the jailer. The bathhouse is the sea, and the bathhouse attendant indicates the captain of a ship. These are interpreted according to the form of the dream seen, and are accordingly explained to the dreamer.

Whoever sees in a dream that, after entering the bathhouse and washing, he puts on a white garment and wears wooden bathhouse clogs on his feet will die. For washing signifies the ablution of death, the white garment the shroud, and the clogs the coffin.

If one sees an ill person enter the bathhouse, wash, and come out, it signifies recovery from illness. If a man who has a lawsuit in court sees himself enter the bathhouse and wash, he will win his case. If he slips in the bathhouse, faints, or remains there and does not come out, he will lose that case.

Seeing oneself enter the bathhouse with one’s clothes on in a dream signifies grief, hardship, and illness. Seeing oneself enter the bathhouse through the water channel or through a window signifies entering the house of a prostitute. Whoever sees himself in the bathhouse together with wild animals or vermin will be in the company of certain evil persons beside the prostitute.

Whoever enters the bathhouse in a dream and comes out purified, clean, and having performed a full ritual ablution will attain guidance, or pay his debt and be delivered, or receive Allah’s forgiveness (may He be glorified and exalted). If the dreamer is unmarried, he will marry; if he is poor, he will become wealthy. Whoever sees himself washing in the bathhouse with his clothes on will fall in love with a woman of ill repute or incur a debt.

Seeing a dead person in the hot private chamber of the bathhouse, clothed and with his private parts exposed, indicates that he is suffering punishment in the Hereafter. If he is wearing fine garments and has applied a pleasant fragrance, and is seen leaving the bathhouse in this state, it indicates that he is on the path of pardon and forgiveness. Seeing men and women washing together in the bathhouse signifies that the people are in a state of rebellion and that public order has been disrupted; according to one account, it also indicates that the women and men of that place are extremely angry with one another and will do evil to one another.

Seeing in a dream that the water of the bathhouse has turned into blood and that everyone is washing with this water indicates that the government is oppressing the people there or that acts contrary to the Sacred Law are being committed. Whoever sees himself singing a song in the bathhouse will utter an evil word for which he will receive an answer. A dark bathhouse is interpreted as a dungeon, while the bathhouse’s water reservoir is interpreted as a thieving woman.

Ibn Sirin: Seeing a bathhouse in a dream signifies a spouse, wealth, purification, and repentance; the heat of the bathhouse may also indicate distress.

Ibn Sirin: Seeing the bath attendant of a public bathhouse in a dream signifies paying debts, the dispersal of troubles, the ending of difficulties, and washing away sin. On the other hand, seeing him may also indicate depression or illness. Whoever sees himself as the attendant of a Turkish bath but does not serve the customers indicates a pimp and bastard who brings benefit to no one, but rather brings anger. Seeing oneself dressed in a white uniform while serving people signifies washing the hearts of people and relieving their distress. A public bathhouse in itself bears many meanings.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
