Weaning

If a woman sees in a dream that she has weaned her child, and the child has reached the time of weaning, this indicates that she will be delivered from compassion and toil. If she is ill, it signifies that she will recover.

If the child seen in the dream is very small and has not yet reached the time of weaning, she will commit an unpleasant act, or err against her husband, or have little compassion for her child. Whoever sees a child being weaned, if the child is very young, will be unable to raise his voice against an injustice.

Whoever sees that he is assisting in the weaning of a child: if the child seen is large and has reached the time of weaning, he will assist his wife in being delivered from toil and hardship. If the child is very small, he too will have taken part in an injustice that has been committed.

According to some interpreters, weaning is interpreted as preventing sustenance. Whoever sees that his own child has been weaned will fall into difficulty regarding sustenance and livelihood. If the dreamer is an official, he will be dismissed from his post. If he is a merchant, he will suffer loss; if wealthy, he will fall into poverty; and if poor, he will fall into even greater poverty.

To see in a dream that a child has been weaned, or to wean the child oneself, or to assist the one who weans it: according to one report, this signifies falling into hardship of livelihood; according to another report, it signifies working to the detriment of one of his relatives.

According to Ja‘far al-Sadiq, there is no good in weaning a child in a dream—whether male or female, large or small—or in seeing that the child has been weaned. It is an indication of harm, deprivation, and a decrease in sustenance.

According to Süleyman al-Hüseynî, if a maiden or a widowed woman sees that she has forcibly weaned her own child, this is an indication that she will marry and have a child; and if a woman who already has a child sees that she has weaned her child, it is an indication that she will have another child.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
