Winding Thread / Making a Ball

Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq: In a dream, winding thread or rope, or making it into a ball, has three interpretations:

1—Setting out on a journey or returning from a journey

2—Purification of the soul

3—The opening of affairs whose way was blocked.

Ibn Sirin: To see in a dream that you are winding thread or rope and making it into a ball signifies that you shall set out on a journey, and that the journey shall be prolonged according to the length of the thread or rope.

To wind thread or make it into a ball in order to sew something in a dream signifies that you shall undertake an affair for your own benefit, or that you shall purify your soul.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.

In the interpretation, the themes of travel and change, work and responsibility, success and reputation, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
