Ibn Sirin: To see in a dream that a mountain has been pierced and that you have entered through that opening signifies that you will learn the secret of a person who is true to his word.

To see in a dream that you have extracted something from the same opening signifies that you will receive a gift, in proportion to the amount of the thing you extracted, from a person who is true to his word.

To see in a dream that an opening has been made in your body and that blood has issued from it signifies that you will suffer loss and damage for some reason.

Jabir al-Maghribi: To see in a dream that you are making an opening in a narrow place signifies that you will remain steadfast in your religion; whereas to see that you are piercing a brick is interpreted contrary to this indication.

It is related that a man came to ʿAli, the Commander of the Believers (may God be pleased with him), and said: “O Commander of the Believers! I saw in my dream a large cow emerge from a small opening. However much I tried, I could not send that cow back again.”

Thereupon the Imam (may God be pleased with him) replied: “The opening you saw in your dream signifies the mouth, and the cow signifies speech. Once speech leaves the mouth, it does not return.”

Sayyid Sulayman: In former times, in order to admit air and provide coolness, air ventilators were installed from the roof of the house down to its lower floor, in windows and doors. For this reason:

To see in a dream this ventilation system passed through the walls is interpreted as the servant who is the closest assistant of the master of the house and who has gained his confidence. Every good or evil occurrence that takes place in it is interpreted according to this servant.

A hole in a wall and the like signifies the uncovering of secrets and obstacles that will arise in work and other affairs; to see oneself piercing strong structures or materials difficult to pierce signifies that you will make advances toward girls who have recently reached maturity, or that you will wander about in a position seeking to obtain information concerning it, or that some money will leave the house.

Making a hole in a dream also signifies a person who will come to inspect and conduct strict examinations. To pierce a house and enter it in a dream indicates that harm will befall the woman residing in the house. Making a hole sometimes signifies conducting research into valuable works.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
