Transit Pluto: Meaning in 12 Houses

Pluto is the slowest moving planet — it stays in a sign for between 12 and 31 years (due to its elliptical orbit), and it takes 248 years to complete the zodiac. It is a generational planet; its personal effect only emerges when it transits through a house and makes aspects to your natal planets.

Basic Theme of Transit Pluto

Pluto is the planet of death-rebirth, power, and radical transformation. The house it transits through is the area where a deep, irreversible transformation process occurs over the years — first, the collapse of something, and then the construction of something much stronger in its place. This slow and intense process is often remembered as “life-changing years.”

Generational Influence and Personal Aspects

Pluto’s sign is common for everyone born within the same 12-31 year range — the personal touch comes from the aspects Pluto makes to personal points such as the natal Sun, Moon, Ascendant. These aspects occur rarely (due to Pluto’s slowness), but when they do, they signify one of life’s most transformative periods.
